NECPA - What It Means To You

The National Early Childhood Program Accreditation has been supporting educational programs strive for excellence since1993. Our non-profit organization was created by the National Child Care Association to encourage the availability of high quality early education programs for America's families. Now, as an independent and nationally recognized program, the NECPA is maintaining its pursuit for excellence by delivering its accreditation philosophy to hundreds of early childhood programs across the country.

As an early childhood care and education professional you strive on a daily basis to provide a place where children can learn, play, and grow. A place that will be safe. An environment that is both caring and stimulating. But how do you create the public awareness necessary to validate your efforts? The National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) Commission believes that the best way to achieve this goal is through the use of an independent, voluntary accreditation program. The NECPA program is an Automated Accreditation Indicator System (AAIS). This system and the instrument itself were developed by Dr. Richard Fiene, in conjunction with the renowned Early Childhood Education Programs Department of Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg.

The NECPA has been carefully crafted to create broad public understanding of the benefits of high quality early childhood care and education. Coupled with this increased understanding is a raised awareness of the “professional expertise” required to deliver that high quality care and an appreciation of the advantages that children receive from accredited centers and schools.
