Qualification and Approval Process for Becoming a Certified NECPA Verifier

 

Phase 1:

 

  • Verifier application is completed and submitted to National Accreditation Council for candidature.

 

Phase 2:

 

  • If  Verifier is approved as a Verifier Candidate, web conference training is presented to him or her by a Lead Verifier.

 

Phase 3:

 

  • Prior to scheduling the visits, participating and responsible program parties submit signed consent forms permitting the NECPA Commission to utilize centers as on-site field training visit facilities. 
  • Verifier Candidate completes three on-site field training visits with a Lead Verifier.   
  • Lead Verifiers  oversee all observations and documentation review.
  • During the first two visits, the Lead Verifier conducts observations and records comments made at the time of exit interviews. 
  • On the third and last training visit, the Verifier Candidate performs the aforementioned duties. 
  • Although Verifier Candidate is performing actual verification duties, he or she is not responsible for any actions that could question the validity of the verification process.   Lead Verifier holds ultimate responsibility and accountability.
  • A performance evaluation, as well as, a Verifier Candidate competency assessment is completed.      

 

Phase 4:

 

  • Council determines Verifier Candidacy based upon evaluations and assessments. 
  • In the event Candidate is unqualified, he or she is notified through written correspondence. 
  • The Council may require additional field training and evaluations in order to determine qualification status of Verifier Candidate.
  • Verifier Candidate must carry out the recommended additional field trainings and assessments within six months of written notification for further consideration.  
  • When a Verifier Candidate is fully approved, an approval letter will be sent to applicant. 
  • The approved Verifier Candidate must submit a copy of his or her clean FBI background check and original ratified contract or commitment letter to be considered as a Certified NECPA Verifier. 
  • Upon receiving the necessary documents, the Verifier Candidate is approved as a Certified NECPA Verifier for up to one year.
  • A Verifier may choose to offer services to the NECPA Commission through either a paid or volunteer position.
  • If a Verifier selects the compensation plan option, he or she is reimbursed according the PVCP (Paid Verifier Compensation Plan) compensation schedule.  The compensation schedule shall be provided upon receipt of approval and is subject to change.
  • The compensation schedule is renewed yearly and follows the calendar year.  The system resets each calendar year.
  • Verifier shall commit to conducting at least three (3) verification visits annually to qualify for compensation.
