NECPA is the only independent early childhood accrediting organization in the United States. Our non-profit mission is to encourage your quality and recognize your excellence.
NECPA accreditation is a vital endeavor for a number of reasons. Primarily, the NECPA self-assessment process which involves parents, staff, and program management encourages all to work together to reach for a higher level of quality. This collaboration serves to benefit the children. The focus of NECPA assessment and accreditation is to bring positive tangible benefits and experiences to the lives of the children and their families.
The early years of NECPA began in 1991, when leading industry professionals of the National Child Care Association envisioned a valid and reputable accreditation choice that promoted all eligible programs to raise their quality bar. Founding the NECPA required extensive research followed by pilot testing to ensure the commitment to rich standard components. Since this time, we at NECPA have promoted the most reliable measures of quality in the early childhood field both nationally and abroad. Through our assessment and accreditation measures, NECPA works to assure that best practices for education are being implemented in our early child care settings.
The field of early childhood education continues to be a dynamic one. Structural measures, process measures, and global measures for optimal learning outcomes are a major component for our accreditation process, and as a primary goal, NECPA integrates into our program current research that connects with optimal learning outcomes for the early childhood learner.
